Relocation Via Astrology The Making And Reading Of A Horoscope Each person is born at a calculated time and place on this planet Earth. A "Natal Chart," or a "Nativity, " the Radix or "Radical Chart," is a diagram or map of the heavens at the time of birth of a person, a State, an Administration, a New Moon, a New Year. Today most charts are produced by computers because the math is often more precise than can be done by some people. I did it by hand for 21 years. Now even I say, "Thank goodness for computers!" Anyone who can add, subtract and multiply can create a natal chart by hand, although it is also necessary to have a book of logarithms to track the movement of the planets. The reading, or delineation, of the chart is better left to an experienced astrologer who is trained in the many subtle intricacies of the chart. Computers may be better in the science of Astrology, the math. But a person with wisdom is always better in the art of Astrology, the interpretation. Quite naturally each astrologer puts their unique slant on the interpretation, depending on their background, education, skills, insight, knowledge, and experience. Some "Knights" are better than others! The cardinal directions -- East, South, West and North -- of a natal chart are the exact opposites of a road map. The East point of the chart is on the left side of the circle. It marks the beginning of the 1st House and is called the Ascendant, or "rising sign." The Ascendant move one degree approximately every four minutes; therefore, it and the Midheaven are the fastest moving points in the chart. The point of the South, at the top of the circle, is the cusp of the 10th House and is called the Midheaven, or MC, which is an abbreviation for Medium Coeli, Latin for Midheaven. The Ascendant, or ASC, is the point that relates to your physical body and is, therefore, important to your health. The opposite point of the ASC is the cusp of the 7th House, called the Descendant, or the western angle, on the right side of the wheel. Any aspect (degrees between planets) to the ASC will also throw an aspect to the Descendant, which will activate any partnerships in the native's life. Try to imagine the earth at the center of the chart. Planets in the 1st through 6th Houses are below the horizon of the Earth. With most of the planets in these Houses, the native's second half of life will be more active than the first half. Conversely, if most of the planets are in the 7th through 12th Houses, a person tends to be more active in the first half of their life. The MC (Midheaven) is at the cusp of the 10th House, an area that describes the public reputation or career of the native. The point opposite the MC is the Imum Coeli, Latin for the lowest heaven, or the cusp of the 4th House. The IC is the North point but is actually at the bottom of the chart or wheel. This area describes your home, private life, and the end of your life. These two lines form the four Cardinal points in the chart and are very important because they are the boundary for the angular Houses, the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. These Houses are generally regarded as the most important Houses in the chart. However, my experience has shown that aspects to the ASC can be even more crucial than aspects to the MC. If your health is poor, even a great deal of money spent on doctors and medicines won't necessarily buy good health. Reading The Chart For Relocation Adverse aspects (i.e. Neptune square the ASC) can be nullified by moving either east or west of your birthplace. The referenced aspect usually indicates an allergy to something in your environment; it can also indicate deception from a business or marriage partner. Moving on a line north or south of your birthplace will not change your Ascendant much, unless you travel to the Southern Hemisphere. The Astrology relocation method known as Astro*Carto*Graphy draws lines on a map of the USA, North American continent, or the World. It indicates various places where planets are conjunct with the four cardinal points of your Natal chart. This system was developed by Gary then put on a computer by Jim Lewis, both brilliant astrologers, who have since gone on to a higher realm. The conjunction is the strongest of all aspects in Astrology. If Saturn or Pluto is conjunct any of these points in Japan, I would not recommend traveling there, even for a visit, and I would also not recommend buying a car made in Japan. The same logic follows if Germany or Detroit are aspected adversely. The conjunction is only one aspect of many. There are others, the opposition, square, trine, sextile, and inconjunct. They all need to be considered. If a planet is conjunct the MC or ASC, it will naturally be in opposition to the IC or Descendant. As you can see, there is really no "perfect" place to live, but a qualified astrologer can give you insight into probable changes in a designated location and help you find the "best" place for your needs. Are you seeking more success in a career? in sports? the arts? marriage or relationship? more independence? vitality, well-being, health? spiritual growth? Before you call on your astrologer, list your priorities. A life change is an important decision to make. Next week I will explain other means of relocation via Astrology. Archer's Parting Shot!
