Archer Takes Aim at Astrology Mundane Astrology Or "Current Events" And Best Book Stores In USA Mundane Astrology is the interpretation of Astrology in terms of world events by the analysis of the effects of New and Full Moons, Eclipses, Solstices, Equinoxes, planetary conjunctions, and similar celestial phenomena. While Natal Astrology deals with an individual birth horoscope, Mundane Astrology deals with large groups, countries and political events. Early tomorrow morning, Friday the thirteenth, 2000, will be a full moon at 20 degrees Aries. It will be square the Moon Nodes at 20 degrees Cancer. This happens twice a year and often indicated earthquakes because the earth tends to wobble a bit on its axis when it is square the Moon Nodes. Couple this with an extra heavy dose of Sun Spots activity and the line up of retrograde Jupiter at 10 degrees Gemini exactly opposite Pluto at 10 degrees of Sagittarius and you get a busy news day. When Jupiter is in retrograde motion it tends to act more like Saturn. Then add to this mix the slowing down of Mercury in Scorpio preparing to go retrograde next Wednesday, October 18 for approximate 3 weeks. It will travel retrograde on the Via Combusta (burning road) from 15 degrees Scorpio to 29 degrees Libra, where it will resume direct motion on November 7, election day. With Mercury making its station direct on election day and the Moon in the sign of Neptune ruled Pisces until the polls close you can bet there will be a lot of chicanery in this election. Actually the one not elected to the Presidency may thank his "lucky stars" later that he wasn’t chosen. Due to the Saturn conjunction of Jupiter in late Taurus in May, the President most likely will not live out his term in office. As I said in a previous article, it is very important to look very closely at the Vice President candidate this time around. They will most likely be called on to do more than just "waiting" as Cheney said a few years ago! Another Mundane Astrology matter is the recent eclipses. There were two Solar Eclipses in July which is a rather rare event. Each solar eclipse affects only a certain area of the globe. The Solar Eclipse on July 30 was at 8 degrees Leo and was centered over the Northwest part of the USA. Eclipses tend to indicate trouble from Mother Nature, not man-made disasters. Well a large part of Idaho and Montana were ablaze this late summer. How long an eclipse has effect is debated among astrologers, but a common opinion is until the next solar eclipse occurs. Ironically the next solar eclipse is on Christmas Day at 4 degrees Capricorn and it also will affect much the same area, the Northwestern States in the USA, as the last eclipse. So watch for sever weather this winter in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and northern California and northern Nevada. This could be in the form of mud slides in the areas of the fires. Or it could also arrive in the form of a drought or little moisture. Think Mother Nature is going through Menopause and is a bit distressed with what mankind has done to her by playing fast and loose with chemicals and bulldozers! I regard myself a connoisseur of libraries, book stores, chocolate, zoos, and Aquariums. The local library is the hot spot of the town! Often check out the local library before choosing a home when relocating. The Public Library is the "University of the people". This can also be now said about the Internet if it is used wisely. It has been reported that the Internet is 80% pornography. If that is true, (haven’t checked it out personally!) it is a very sad commentary on man! My experience found the public libraries are best in the Eastern and Northern part of the USA. When the new Fiction books out number the new Non Fiction books two to one it is not a good sign of intellectual life in the community. I have found some excellent books stores across the USA and would like to alert my readers to them. My first love, "Weisers" in New York City, sadly is no more. The same is true of Darlene Enber’s wonderful "Astrology and Spiritual Center" in Hammond, Indiana. Those were the glory days!! But I understand the wonderful Quest book store affiliated with the Theosophical Society of North America in Wheaton, Illinois, is alive and well. They also have a small but magnificent library at the North American Headquarters in Wheaton. I also highly recommend that if you get anywhere near Springfield, Missouri, you go out of your way to visit Elaine’s magical "Renaissance Books and Gifts". It is far superior to anything you will find in Kansas City or St. Louis, Missouri. If in Sarasota, Florida don’t miss "Brant’s Used Books" or the "Elysian Fields". Fort Myers, Florida offers a wonderful book store named "Planet Earth Book Center". Lucille Brixey, the owner of the "Aquarian Age Bookshelf" at 5603 Chaucer in Houston is very kind and knowledgeable as well as her assistant, Virginia Gray. "The Pegasus Book Center" in Omaha thankfully has survived a fire bombing. If in Santa Fe, don’t miss "The Ark". It takes a bit of doing to find it, but it is worth the extra effort. In Carmichael, California (suburb of Sacramento) you will be delighted with "Her Place" Women’s Spirituality Bookstore. In Portland, Oregon you will find every book lover’s favorite, "Powell’s" :the Mother of all book stores! Also in Portland, on 23rd Avenue, you will find one of the finest Metaphysical Book stores in the country, the "New Renaissance Bookshop". Jamey, the owner is also a very handsome hunk but sorry ladies he is taken! And one of my all time favorites is in the Phoenix, Arizona area. While in the land of cactus, don’t miss visiting "Changing Hands" in Tempe, Arizona. If you have a favorite book store I’d like to hear about it via e-mail (joyarcher3@juno.com). Please tell me about it and why I should put it on my to visit list. Also remember, I am open to topics that you would like discussed in future articles. Archer’s Parting Shot! Unfortunately many in religious movements are there for the wrong reasons, girls, glory, gold and power. Leaders often start absconding with the money or sleeping with their students. That is not "walking the talk". No one needs an agent to get to Mother/Father God!
